The differences between acrylic and polyester baths are insignificant if they are made by experienced craftsmen as is the case with all our products. Both baths will last for many decades if cared for and kept clean and polished.

When made on a production line, deficiencies can arise in the surface, between its different layers and in its strength and durability. In this case, a  highly reputable and small manufacturer, a long warranty and sufficient care and maintenance are advisable.

When checking the quality of a bath, test the strength of its walls: they should not be noticeably flexible. Check the drain: here you can usually gauge the thickness of the walls of the rest of the bath. Check the top edges to make sure they are straight. They should have steel embedded in them. And slowly run your fingers over the surface in bright light to check for undulations and to make sure the bath will drain properly.

Acrylic is slightly whiter and the surface is slightly harder and shinier but damage is very difficult and expensive to repair compared to a polyester bath which can be made with steeper walls, greater depth and the option of any colour.
