Wooden baths are not so different from acrylic and polyester baths in the
care and maintenance required:
|
| 1. |
Keep the bath out of direct sunlight, hot dry air and avoid chemicals.
|
| 2. |
Wash inside with a mild soap and rinse before use. Occasionally wash
the external surfaces including underneath.
|
| 3. |
Rub all surfaces, including underneath, with sunflower oil occasionally.
Don't let the floor become slippery. ( If the bath is not oiled, the wood's
aroma can be enjoyed and the bath will age beautifully and more
quickly. )
|
| 4. |
Keep the wood moisture level constant ( inside ) by leaving the bath
filled when it's not in use. If you leave it half-filled, put the lid on to
prevent the upper half from turning a different colour.
|
| 5. |
Very occasionally use fine sand paper ( not across the grain ) to remove
any wood fur that might develop on the inside.
|
| 6. |
Occasionally allow the whole bath to dry out thoroughly ( towel-off the
excess ) for a few hours. Wood is alive, is always moving and changing
and finally grows old and tired. It needs a rest sometimes from being
thoroughly wet.
